HISTORY
Winnipeg is a city of many cultures of whichthe Chinese community has always been an integral and significant part. Over thelast few decades, as the number of Chinese immigrants increased, so has theneed for redeveloping Winnipeg’s Chinatown.
In 1981, the redevelopment became a realitywith the support of the three levels of government through the Winnipeg CoreArea Initiative and the Chinese community itself. The Winnipeg Chinatown Corporation wasestablished in 1981, and in 1983 the Winnipeg Chinese Cultural and CommunityCentre was incorporated as part the overall development project in response toa survey conducted in 1982 wherein 90% of the Chinese in Winnipeg indicated aneed for such a facility.
温城中华文化中心（WCCCC） 成立于1982年， 是温尼伯最大的最有号召力的华人组织之一。 作为老一辈华侨倾尽多年心血的结晶，WCCCC和温城的各方各界都有着紧密联系与合作，是中国城的核心力量。
